(Fort Benton) As first reported by The River Press in Fort Benton, two were injured this weekend during Fort Benton’s Summer Celebration Parade when a longhorn involved in the parade became unruly.
The animal tried to pull away while being led by ropes, and was reportedly being held by two men at the time. Two victims are reported at this time, one was transported via Mercy Flight to Benefis in Great Falls and is expected to make a full recovery; the other’s injuries weren’t severe enough to need emergency transport.
The longhorn is said to have participated in other parades in the past without issue.
The parade continued after injured parties were assisted.
