Free security assessments for rural hospitals coming this year.

(Montana) Federal reports indicate that between 2022 and 2023, cyber attacks on healthcare facilities doubled in number, which is a huge cause for concern for rural Montana communities.

More rural hospitals are typically targeted because hiring IT professionals is expensive, which is compounded by the difficulty of recruiting people to rural communities, according to experts.

This year, both Google and Microsoft will be offering free security assessments and heavy discounts on cybersecurity tools for small hospitals following a White House announcement earlier this month.
