(Hill County) – The Hill County Commissioners announced in a public notice on Thursday that a Burn Ban is in place for Hill County effective immediately.
Open burning is defined as a fire where any material is burned on the ground or in an open receptacle other than a furnace, incinerator or other equipment connected to a stack or chimney. This includes burning yard debris, brush and construction debris. Exceptions to this include propane or charcoal cooking in a contained apparatus with enclosed barbeques. Campfires are allowed in an established ring.
The Burn Ban also prohibits fire districts from issuing burning permits.
