(Havre) A new business opening in Havre, Bobbi’s Boutique on 4th street, marks another business that joined the Havre Chamber of Commerce, but what it actually means to join the Chamber might be unclear to many business owners in the community.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with Shelli Sayers, Executive Director of the Havre Chamber of Commerce, for more information on what it means to be a Chamber member.
“Our members represent virtually every kind and type of business, and this diversity empowers to speak as a united voice for the Havre business community. We also offer benefits that you can’t find anywhere else. Some of those benefits include community connections, committee connections within the committees in the Havre chamber, development connections, information resources, as well as some networking opportunities and connections across our business membership.”
Being a Chamber member also means the ability to enroll in the “Chamber Bucks” program according to Sayers. Chamber Bucks are a type of gift certificate that are only usable at participating Havre businesses, which Sayers says is a way of keeping the money in the community.
These benefits come at the cost of membership dues, which incur an additional 25-dollar fee if the business enrolls in the gift certificate program.
