(Havre) The Havre City Council met August 5th for their monthly meeting.
The meeting began with the city agreeing to the International Association of Firefighters Collective Bargaining Agreement for fiscal years 2025 and 2026, the big items in this was the firefighters union getting an increase in base pay by 6% for the years 2024 and 2025.
Trey Copeland was officially brought on the Havre Police Department as a probationary patrolman.
The Havre Department of Public Works says that the water system is still slightly above the usual amount of chlorine in the water by order from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, with their biggest concern now being the bottlenecking in water production. This issue’s cause has now been narrowed down to the filters, which the water treatment plant says as solution to is now being worked towards.
The next city council meeting is scheduled for September 9th.
