Frontier Conference volleyball media day was held on Tuesday afternoon. MSU-Northern had senior middle blocker Alana Graves and senior setter/outside hitter Emily Feller represented to talk about the team.
In their final seasons wearing the Skylights uniform, Graves emphasized the ability to set goals for one another individually and have that come together on the court.
“I would say my mindset is to reach our goals,” Graves said. “I think we have really great goals set for our season and all of the girls work really hard.”
“I’m excited to be able to work with them towards reaching our goals just vibing towards that because I know our goals will get us to where we need to be,” Graves continued.
Feller echoed her teammate’s sentiment, saying there have been conversations about where the Skylights can envision being, especially leaning on the experience with 10 returners and one junior college transfer to mix together with two freshmen who were all-state players in Montana high school volleyball last season.
“We’ve all sat down multiple different times and discussed what kind of goals we wanted for this season,” Feller said. “With us having so much experience and so many girls that might be (in) their last season, we all just decided that we want to full out go for it (and not) leave anything behind on the court.”
The Skylights will play one last “Alumni Game” on Friday inside the Armory Gym at 6pm before the Big Sky Challenge kicks off on Aug. 15.
