(Havre – Kyle Leeds) – The Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees met for their regular monthly meeting, on Tuesday night. Four Items were discussed, and all were passed unanimously by the board. The first item was changes to the 2024-25 school year student handbooks at the three elementary schools, the middle school and Havre High School. The board approved an increase in student activity fees, and activity passes available to individuals and families in the district. In the same vote, the board approved the Go Fan system for Havre Public Schools which is a system that will modernize ticket sales and add additional payment methods for admittance to district activities. The third item approved by the Board of Trustees was an adjustment of the multi district agreement with Rocky Boy Schools and Hutterite Colonies in the Havre School District. The final item approved by the board on Tuesday Night, was a request by the Box Elder School District to cross boundaries into the Havre School District to pick up students.
In his report to the Board of Trustees, Superintendent Brian Gum, updated the board members on the Office of Public Instruction accreditation for Havre Public Schools, the community eligibility provision which allows all K-12 students in Havre Public Schools free breakfast and lunch, the progress of district projects before school begins and impressions of the Havre Public Schools job fair. Gum also updated the board on the August Institute offerings for teachers and staff, the new teacher orientation, and reminded them about the welcome back ceremony for Havre Public Schools employees taking place on Monday August 19th, inside the Havre High School auditorium.
The next Havre School Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 10th, 6:30pm at Havre Middle School.
