(Shelby) EMT personnel in Shelby underwent a mass casualty training to test their ability to respond to an emergency event.
The training involved fake patients being brought to the hospital with makeup that was meant to represent injuries, where the ambulance and hospital staff then walked through the process of how they’d treat each person.
The hospital says the purpose of these exercises is to look for and work out any flaws or inefficiencies in their system when real lives aren’t on the line, so that everything can be in top shape when they are.
