New political science class at UM

(UM press release) University of Montana political science instructor Dr. Eve-Maria Maggi has headed up a unique two credit, five-day political science class, where students explore the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex on horseback.

Students with any major are welcome to take the course, where they will learn wilderness policy as well as horse and mule packing, all while putting the experience to practice. The course is designed to where anyone, regardless of their experience level, are able to participate. Scholarships are also available from non-profit sources.

Students also learn about issues in the wild. This summer, they passed through the Pyramid Pass area, where they learned about wildfire changing landscape and wildlife, having burned twice in less than two decades.
