BLM holds prescribed burn driving tour.

(BLM North-Central MT) The North Central Montana District of the Bureau of Land Management held a driving tour of recent prescribed fuel treatments that have taken place near the Northern Missouri Breaks National Monument.

The burns were along an 80 mile loop around the Crooked Creek watershed, the tour had discussion on how BLM experts plan and conduct fuels treatments in an attempt to reduce conifer encroachment and achieve optimal outcomes that improve land health for both wildlife and human use.

The South Phillips County project will also undergo a similar treatment as part of the Hi-Line Sagebrush Anchor Restoration Landscape, a result of a partnership between BLM and the Ranchers Stewardship Alliance.
