The Havre Blue Pony and Chinook Sugarbeeter cross country teams competed in the Malta Invite on Saturday.
On the girls side, Havre took 1st place as a team. Hailey Gingery clocked a 20:20.1 for the Blue Ponies good for a third place individual finish to lead the way for Havre. Marley Springer took 5th place individually with a 21:53.11.
Neva Lowe led the way for Chinook taking a 2nd place finish individually clocking a 20:05.59 and helped the Sugarbeeter girls finish 4th as a team in the meet.
On the boys side, Havre took 2nd place as a team. Mason Gregoire was the top individual finisher for the Blue Ponies taking 4th place with a 17:51.02. Koby Preputin had 7th individually and 2nd for Havre with his 19:17.0. Brayden Nimmick had 10th individually with a 19:45.5.
For the Sugarbeeter boys who took 4th as a team, Xavier Ymzon led the way with a 21:20.86 good for 19th place individually.
Next up for Havre cross country is the Eastern A Fall Classic in Glendive on Saturday. Meanwhile, Chinook will make the quick 20 mile trip east for the Harlem Invite on Friday.
