(Havre) During the last Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees meeting, Havre Mayor Doug Kaercher made an appearance to discuss a matter that would affect both the city and Havre Public Schools.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with Superintendent of HPS Brian Gum to learn more.
“Right now Havre Public Schools is having discussion with the City of Havre over a potential land exchange situation. Right now we’re looking to see is that something that would be in our best interest as a school district before we move forward with that. Right now it’s more fact-finding and looking at what would be the best possibility and benefit Havre Public Schools. We’re certainly entertaining discussions with the Mayor at this time and looking to see if it can benefit both entities.”
Gum did not mention exactly which piece or pieces of land would be involved in this exchange, stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
