(Havre) The Hill County Commissioners held their weekly business meeting on October 17th.
After getting two matters of employment out of the way, the Board saw a presentation from two members of the NeighborWorks organization, which were pitching to the commissioners why they should be picked by the county as their Community Reinvestment Orgnization, or CRO.
The CRO initiative was recently passed at the state level and allots money to each county to offer down payment assistance for first time home-buyers in the form of loans, which are meant to be more accessible than a typical private loan.
The board did have questions for NeighborWorks before signing off, and are also considering another organization, HAB Development, as being their Organization of choice.
The decision was tabled until next week as more information is gathered.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 24th.
