Hill County Park Board Meeting – 11/4/2024

(Hill County) The Hill County Park Board held their monthly meeting on Monday, November 4th.

The park opened with a discussion on funding for the Beaver Lodge project, with mention that the USDA is willing to offer a loan to the park through their Rural Development and Community Facilities program.

78 thousand dollars has already been donated to the park via the Brown and Kimball Foundation.

There was discussion on what will be done with cabins that are out of compliance with park policy, the discussion was tabled for next meeting.

FEMA and Montana FWP in contact with the park to repair the parks flood damaged areas to pre-disaster condition, and also to fund mitigation projects to prevent damage in the future.

Nearly 1800 cattle are grazing in the park, with several having been struck by vehicles already. The board urges travelers to slow down in the park, especially at night.
