(Havre) A local Havre business, Lewis Heating and Air, was the beneficiary of a USDA Rural Development Grant.

“It’s a rural development grant and it is a grant to improve the energy efficiency in our building. We found out about the grant and Bear Paw Development helped us out with getting us applied for it and through the process of getting the grant. So it’s tied to the efficiency of the building”
The grant, in the amount of nearly 100,000 dollars, is a 50% match, meaning Lewis Heating and Air also will put up nearly 100,000 dollars of their own money.
According to the USDA, the energy saved will be enough to power two homes.
