(Havre) – Montana law enforcement agencies are increasing their presence on roadways during the holiday season and that includes Havre Police Department according to Captain Ryan Pearson.
In 2022, the most recent verified year for crash data, 32% of drivers involved in fatal crashes on Montana’s roads had been drinking.
Montana has one of the highest fatality rates in the nation for the number of deaths caused by impaired drivers per vehicle mile traveled.
Pearson says this initiative is done in collaboration with the state-wide Vision Zero campaign, the goal of which is to reach zero deaths or serious injuries on Montana’s roadways.
