Box Elder high school student-athlete Tuarie Stiffarm-Rosette was recognized for a major honor this past weekend. The senior dual-sport athlete was given the 2025 Montana High School Association (MHSA) Outstanding Leadership Performance Award for the winter sports season.
The MHSA awards the OLPA to one student-athlete or team from each season of sports in Montana. Stiffarm-Rosette joins the Fairview Warriors girls’ volleyball team as the only winners so far for the 2024-25 school year.
The MHSA released this statement on behalf of the award process: “The MHSA Outstanding Leadership Performance Award honors students, teams, and groups who exhibit exceptional leadership within their communities. This prestigious award recognizes individuals and teams whose leadership and service have made a lasting impact. Whether on athletic fields, in classrooms, or through community involvement, positive leadership is a fundamental value of the MHSA.”
Stiffarm-Rosette is a helper of his teammates and his community. He has been a captain of both the state champion football team and as a starter on the undefeated basketball team, which also won back-to-back titles during his upperclassmen years. In his downtime, he volunteers with the Stone Child College Mentorship Program as well as with youth basketball camps.
Along with the recognition displayed on social media by the MHSA, Stiffarm-Rosette is now the owner of a co-branded plaque. Stiffarm-Rosette will be headed to Havre once he graduates from Box Elder High. He signed with MSU-Northern to play on the Lights football team starting in the fall.
