Havre softball looked to get back on track after dropping its first conference game of the season to Fergus earlier this week. After senior day festivities on Thursday night, the Blue Ponies hosted Glasgow and won a close contest, (4-1).
Havre showed offensive intensity early on, creating traffic on the base paths and generating a bases-loaded walk to take an early lead in the first inning. Glasgow countered with an RBI single in the third inning. The Blue Ponies broke the tie in the fourth inning, courtesy of a Camille Keeley sacrifice fly, which scored Heydon Olson. The sixth inning provided insurance runs for the home team as Brenna Hanson singled in Bree Hanson and Ainsley Courtnage walked in Keeley.
Rachel Jette settled down after the third inning, scattering five hits and allowing just the one run while striking out eight Scotties in a complete game effort.
Havre softball will be on the road for the next two games, starting with a trip to Sidney on Friday.
