(Havre) – The District 9-C Boys and Girls track meet was held at the Havre Middle School track on Wednesday. A pair of Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hi-Line Hawks swept the boys sprints as Nate Nelson was 1st in the 100 meters and Ryland St. John was first in the 200 and 400 meters. The Hawks dominance continued in the middle- and long-distance races and Cooper Streit placed first in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meter races. The Hurdles was all C-J-I Hawks as St. John was first in the 110-meter race, and Ryan Ramberg took the victory in the 300 meter hurdles. The Hawks A team were dominant in the 4 by 100 meter relay but in the 4 by 400 meter the Fort Benton Longhorns A team took the title. The Hawks continued their dominance in the field events as Dane Grammar was first in the shot put and discus while Ryland St. John took home the title in the Triple Jump. The Big Sandy Pioneers claimed their first title of the meet as Quinn Rodewald placed first in the Javelin. Dreyden Anderson from the Box Elder Bears claimed the high jump title. The Longhorns Kaidon Hull was the victor in the Pole Vault and Fort Benton’s Truman Giese claimed the long jump crown. In the boys team title race, CJI placed 1st, Fort Benton 2nd, and Northstar 3rd.
On the girl’s side, Etta Wicks got Fort Benton’s Longhorns off to a fast start with victories in the 100 and 200 meters. Bridget Reed from the Turner Tornadoes claimed the crown in the middle distance 400 and 800 meter events, while Piper Miller from the Knights of Northstar High School was champion in 1600- and 3200-meter distance races. Switching to the hurdles, Ang Reiner of Fort Benton was the 100 meter champion and Turner’s Ali Doyle placed first in the 300 meters. The 4 by 100 and 4 by 400-meter races were claimed by the Longhorns A teams. The Shot Put saw the Knights Sydney Rigg victorious and in the discus Jo Jo Manning of the Long Horns placed first. Meridian Snider of Turner was first in the Javelin while Reiner claimed the high jump crown. Kinzie Campbell of Northstar finished first in the pole vault, Etta Wicks from Fort Benton claimed the Long Jump title and the Triple jump champion was Jayla Ramberg of the CJI Hawks. The ladies team race saw Northstar in 1st, Fort Benton in 2nd and Chester-Joplin-Inverness in third.
Next up for the District 9-C Teams is the Ralph Halverson Northern C divisional meet in Great Falls on Thursday May 15th.
