(NMB) The Havre Northstars Legion baseball team is early in their season; they are 3 and 1 and will open up conference play on Sunday in Great Falls versus the Chargers. This is a little earlier than normal to begin conference play but with 9 teams in the Northern District and a 32 game conference schedule it is necessary to get all conference games in. So, Northstars head coach Ryan Divish says it’s important to get off to a good start in order to get a jump on reaching their season goals.
“We want to finish in the top two in the district. We’d like to win the district regular season and go in as the number one seed to the tournament, because the goal is to make the State tournament. So, getting off to a good start in these conference games is very important.”
Sunday’s Conference opener is a double header with first pitch in Great Falls scheduled for 1pm.
