Macy Brandon represents Havre in BSSG 100m.

Havre, MT – Tonight, Friday, July 18, is the 2025 Big Sky State Games (BSSG) opening ceremony at Lockwood high school. Havre’s very own Macy Brandon will take to the track to compete in the first ever 100-meter race at the BSSG.

Brandon is an accomplished sprinter for the Blue Ponies colleting three All-State track and field selections, finished third in the 2025 state champions in the 100m, 200m, and 400m races. Brandon holds the Havre High school 400m record with a time 57.94.

“It means a lot you know, I’ve put in a lot of work” Brandon said and continued on why she is so excited to compete in the event. “I’m excited for the competition and excited to see what I can do.”

Like every competitive athlete, Brandon is thankful for opportunity to compete with her friends. “Regan Torgerson, she is from Shelby, she is one of my best friends and the Avery Gerdes, from Huntly Project.  I’ve competed with them all this year and being able to be at this stage with them.”

The event will be held at the opening ceremony that starts at 7pm on Friday night.
