Havre, MT – Montana State University-Northern football is finely here as the Northern Lights head to Helena today for a battle with the Carroll College Saints.
Lights head Coach Jerome Sours knows that first game jitters are going to be the first opposition Northern is going to face tonight.
“Like every first game of the year you have to take care of yourself. A lot of teams lose because they beat themselves.” Souers shared.
“So, I think the critical part for us is making sure that we are taking care of the football; making sure that our line of scrimmage is playing efficiently and effectively. “
“Defensively we can’t have mental breakdowns and give up explosive plays. We’re going to make our opponents earn everything they get, and, in the process, we put together four quarters of complementary football between offense, defense, and special teams.”
Head coach Jerome Souers is heading into his fifth year at the helm of Lights football.
