FWP Lifts Restrictions

(HELENA) – Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks has announced that due to shorter days and longer nights resulting in cooler water temperatures, fishing restrictions have been lifted on the Blackfoot River and upper Rock Creek. Water temperatures have routinely been below criteria and FWP expects the temperatures to remain cool.
Hoot owl restrictions were lifted on the entire Blackfoot River main stem – from the headwaters at the confluence of Anaconda Creek and Beartrap Creek to the confluence with the Clark Fork River.
Hoot owl restrictions were lifted on upper Rock Creek – from the confluence of the West and Middle forks to the mouth of Stoney Creek. The remainder of Rock Creek was not under hoot owl restrictions.
