Havre, Mt – Montana State University-Northern brought in more than 45 new players this season and the program comradery and cohesiveness are starting to come around.
Before the start of the season head coach Jerome Souers added 45 plus new players to his roster but was confident about the player additions.
Defensive coordinator Dylan Wampler said after their first game against Carroll College he was impressed by the defensives level of communication and comradery. Now after four weeks Wampler has seen more and more team chemistry growth from the defense.
“Biggest improvement is the comradery of our team and the guys coming together. I mean we’re coming on just around two months of this team all being here on campus, so we’re starting to get traction that way and the guys are starting to get more comfortable playing with each other. I’d say that’s the biggest improvement from week one to week four.
In the Lights two home games the defense has only given up 53 total points and put themselves to the test once again on Saturday. Eastern Oregon University travels to Havre for a week five battle at Tilleman field. Kickoff is at noon, and you can listen on KPQX.
