Havre, MT – Cold temperatures have arrived meaning it’s time for winter sports at MSU-Northern.
In year 18 at the helm of Lights Wrestling, coach Thivierge, likes his roaster and is excited for their scrimmages to start the year.
The Maroon and Gold and Alumni scrimmages are this week, and coach Thivierge is excited for what those nights bring despite having a smaller roster.
“Maroon and Gold, both of them are going to have fewer matches than before, but that’s okay. We got a smaller roster this year, lot of young kids but we got a mixture of young and old. Were gonna have some exciting matches on Saturday but same thing we’re gonna have 8, 10 matches.” Coach Thivierge said.
The Maroon and Gold scrimmage is Wednesday Oct. 15 at 7p.m. and the Lights wrestling alumni match is Saturday at 2p.m. The Lights open up the season on the road to hit the mats with North Idaho College in Coeur de’ Alene on October 24th.
