Havre, MT – MSU-Northern Lights Wrestling held their annual maroon and gold scrimmage and Alumni scrimmages this past week and Coach Thivierge says there is lots of room for improvement.
Coach Thivierge, in his 18th year as head of Lights wrestling, saw one major issue with his team that was visible in both of last week’s scrimmages.
“The one thing I pulled away from that was our conditioning wasn’t on point. four matches in we were tied six six, then the alumni started rolling. They got some pins, they got some big wins, major decisions and stuff like that. One of the things we are pulling out of is we can’t give up bonus points. Bonus points in matches are bad, so that’s what we are working on.” Coach Thivierge said about the Alumni scrimmage last Saturday.
Lights wrestling kicks off its season on the road this Friday with a duel at North Idaho College in Coeur D’ Alene at 7p.m.
