Havre, MT – Former Montana high school and Gonzaga University basketball star returns to the basketball court, but this time Jill Barta hits the sideline.
After playing four years at Gonzaga Barta had a short professional playing career oversees before returning to Montana and eventually making her way to chinook and back on the basketball court as the coach of the Chinook Sugarbeeter girls basketball program
Barta said that the time just felt right to get back on the court.
“You know it took me quite a while, I’ve been living here a couple years now. . . after some time of thinking and Seymour retiring, it kinda just felt right to step in and give back to the community.”
Barta will be able to start official practices with her team in November with the season tipping off against Rocky boy on December 18.
