Havre, MT – After a close loss in the season opener Lights Basketball secured back-to-back wins in great Falls over Simpson and Bushnell university.
The Lights gained a 17-point lead in the second half against Simpson before Northerns lead was cut to just three points. The Lights rallied and held off Simpson for a five-point victory (72-67).
on Saturday the Lights took on Bushnell University and was in control from start to finish to claim a 16-point win.
Lights head coach Shawn Huse said he was pleased with his team’s performance on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. “As a whole I think we just played really well together. Everybody did something to help the cause when they were out there on the court or even from the bench.” Huse said.
Huuse continued getting more specific on what he like on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
“Particularly from what I can remember from that second game we were making the shots that were our shots. I think defensively too we were really good, really active. I was really pleased with the effort we got both nights in different ways.” Huse Said.
The Lights won’t take the floor again until November 10th on the road at Walla Walla University.
