(Havre) – A and E Architects has been selected as the architectural firm for the Aurora Complex on the campus of Montana State University – Northern. Greg Kegel, Chancellor of MSU-Northern told New Media Broadcasters about a meeting A and E had with his team a couple weeks ago.
“They did a lot of building type scenarios with us and trying to pull information from us as to what this building looks like, who it’s going to serve, how it’s going to serve.”
The design team arrived on campus on November 17th with a clear mission: to listen, observe, and begin shaping the new Aurora Complex into a space that truly serves students, the campus, and the broader community. They met with key members of Northern’s administration, faculty, staff, students, and representatives from the Foundation and alumni groups.
Over the course of two days, the design team led a series of collaborative workshops. Sessions on design excellence and space adjacency helped the group begin mapping out how the future facility will function and flow.
The 2023 Montana Legislatures allocated twenty-five million dollars for the construction of the Aurora Complex on the MSU-Northern Campus.
