(Great Falls) – The Montana Association of Floodplain managers recently met in Great Falls. Awards and Recognition were given to numerous individuals in New Media Broadcasters listening area.
The Local Floodplain Champion was awarded to Rolf Johnston from Belt and Malta’s Lorrie Bond received the Floodplain Service and Longevity Award.
The Association of Montana Floodplain Managers (AMFM) brings together professionals from local, state, federal, private, and nonprofit sectors who work in floodplain management, land use planning, engineering, environmental protection, and emergency management.
It was founded in 1997 and is based in Helena, Montana, operating as the state’s leading professional organization focused specifically on flood risk reduction and responsible floodplain development.
