Grizzly Bear in Beaver Creek Park

(FWP) According to a post on the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Facebook page, Thursday night, trail cam footage east of Rotary Pond show a bear, and what appeared to be a grizzly bear in the area. The bear has not caused any conflicts and may or may not still be in the area. However, recreationists and campers in the area, and hikers along the Mount Otis trail should remain vigilant and be bear aware.

Bears can be found throughout Montana. People venturing into the outdoors can help avoid issues by following essential bear aware strategies including keeping food and anything with a scent out of tents. Dispose of garbage in bear resistant bins, do not burn or bury garbage, travel in groups and carry bear spray in an accessible place and know how to use it.
