Havre, MT – Tuesday night the Northstars collected two conferences road wins over Fort MacLeod. game one was 16-1 dominant performance and game two was a wild 11-10 come from behind victory.
Havre’s largest deficit was 9-2 entering the fifth inning and faced a 10-7 deficit entering the top of seventh inning. Northstar head coach Ben Mader loved to see that his team never quit playing hard.
“I got to see them just stay tuff and not panic playing from behind and that was really good. We went hard up until our last strike of the game and that ended up being a bases clearing double and that tied it up again. So it’s really good to see them not go away and stay strong for the whole game.”
The Northstars are now headed to Lewistown for a weekend tournament starting Thursday afternoon. Coach Mader said his team is ready to ride the momentum of the winning streak into the weekend.
“Just stay with the process. Our goal is to go 1-0 every game. We’re not really looking behind us we’re looking to take on the next guy and play the game.” Coach Mader said.
The Northstars first game on Thursday is scheduled to begin at 1p.m. against the Powell Pioneers.
