Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department Responds to Fire at Landfill

(Havre) The Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department responded to a Fire at the Hill County landfill at approximately 1:30am on Saturday Morning. Hill County Unified

disposal says the fire was significant and the Bear Paw Volunteer fire department’s prompt action and hard work brought the fire under control. Fortunately, the

compactor had been moved before sustaining severe damage. While the windshield was damaged by heat and several lights and mirrors were melted, the

outcome could have been much worse.. The cause of the fire remains undetermined. It may have been the result of a lightning strike or a lithium battery, but the exact

cause is still unknown.
