(SAMHSA) The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has announced two grant opportunities for Tribal entities.
A substance abuse prevention grant is open for applications, with a deadline of Monday July 13. This grant is intended to support tribal communities in preventing and reducing substance abuse and overdose, as well as providing early intervention, response, and direction to treatment and recovery efforts.
A suicide prevention grant is also accepting applications until Thursday, July 16. This grant aims to prevent and reduce suicides and attempts, focused on youth and young adults up to 24 years old, using community wide activities incorporating indigenous knowledge and healing to reduce risk and support wellness.
