(Havre) – The Havre City Council met Monday night to discuss and take action on a few items. The council unanimously approved the installation of a new stop sign at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Ridge Road.
Great West Engineering, the city of Havre’s consulting engineering firm, made a presentation about phase two of the city water project. After presenting the preliminary engineering report and environmental analysis, the council unanimously approved both documents. Great West Engineering will now apply with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program for grant and loan funding.
The council voted unanimously to approve the Power Teton water district as a member of the North Central Montana Regional Water Authority which the City of Havre is a member. All new water districts that want to join the North Central Montana Regional Water system must be approved by the existing members, making Monday Night’s vote from the Havre City Council necessary.
Finally the council approved Independence Bank’s request to close 3rd street from 4th avenue to 5th avenue on Friday July 31st from 7am until 4pm for their community appreciation barbecue.
