Congressman Downing Visits Havre

(Havre) – United States, Montana District 2 Republican Congressman Troy Downing visited Havre on Thursday and met with three different groups.

Downing started his day with a personal tour of the MSU-Northern Plumbing and Electrical Technology facilities, and the Diesel Technology Center on Campus led by Interim Chancellor Dr, Jennifer Brown. The congressman heard about how MSU-Northern is training qualified trades workers for industry across the country.

Next Bear Paw Development Corporation hosted a listening session at the Hill County Courthouse featuring community leaders in Health Care, Finance, Economic Development, Education, and Human Services. At this meeting he heard from these leaders about concerns at the federal level in the Health Care and Banking industries, while also listening to concerns from grantees about the speed in which they are receiving funding from federal agencies.

Finally, Representative Downing finished his day taking and tour and hearing about issuing facing agriculture at Montana State University’s Northern Agricultural Resource Center
