Havre, MT – Like many college programs, Montana State University-Northern Skylights volleyball is forced to replace key contributors after losing six players to graduation and transfers.
Head coach of Skylights volleyball Jerry Wagner has reloaded his roster for the fast-approaching season. At Frontier Conference media days last week Wagner said he loves the culture his program maintains despite the turnover.
“We’ve created a culture here. We had some people graduate, but together this team created such a culture that we are going to be able to incorporate it. We’re going to have six new players to the program, four freshman, two junior college kids and the culture is so strong I feel great about it.”
The Skylights biggest returner is graduate student Josie Hasler, who had 223 kills and 393 digs last season. The four freshmen are Cadee (Katie) Bilden, Caleigh Case, Mikayla Ramsey and Holly Newman.
The two transfers are Kendall Scheffelmear from Dawson Community College and Kambria Maloy out of Eastern Arizona College. Northern’s Alumni volleyball match will take place Saturday August 15, at 12p.m.
The Skylights begin their season on Thursday August 20, in Butte against Williams Baptist College at 4p.m.
