(Lewistown) – Fergus and Petroleum County livestock producers may now be eligible for critical disaster benefits.
The United States Department of Agricultures Livestock Forage Disaster Program is now accepting applications for 2026 losses. This program compensates local ranchers who suffered grazing losses due to drought on privately owned or leased lands, or wildfires on federally managed lands.
Eligible forages include native and improved pastures, small grains, annual ryegrass, and forage sorghum.To secure your disaster compensation, you must complete form CCC-853 and submit all required supporting documentation no later than March 1, 2027.
