Events Have Been Set for 2019 Great Northern Fair

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The 2019 Great Northern Fair is a month away and the Fair Board says that they’re ready to go, despite the fact they haven’t had a manager in over a year. Chairman Tyler Smith says all the events are set, and they even have some free acts this year. They are also bringing back the Indian Relay Race that was popular last year.

“Junior Rodeo is on Wednesday. Thursday, then is the Open Rodeo. Friday is the Bull Riding, Saturday is the Demolition Derby, and Sunday is the Indian Relay.”

Smith says that they were able to organize some free entertainment this year.

“There will be some free bands playing in both the Beer Gardens and I do believe somewhere else on the grounds. And, so, we’re going to have some free entertainment and it’s been a couple years since we’ve been able to do that.”

Smith says that parking passes and carnival ride tickets will go on pre-sale soon. They will also have a shuttle to help bring the disabled and elderly from the parking lot into the fairgrounds.
