HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – AARP is now accepting application for the 2019 Community Challenge grant program to fund “quick-action” projects that spark change in local communities. A press release says that the grant program which is now in its third year, is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative.
The Community Challenge is open to non profits and government entities and grants can range from several hundred dollars for small, shot-term activities to several thousand dollars for larger projects.
Categories that the grants fit into include demonstrating the tangible value of “Smart Cities”, delivering a range of transportation and connectivity options in the community, creating vibrant public places through permanent or temporary solutions, supporting the availability of a range of housing, as well as other innovate projects that will improve the community.
Applications are due by April 17th and all projects must be completed by November 4th. The applications must be submitted through AARP.org/CommunityChallenge.
