Ag Secretary Approves Request for Emergency Drought Assistance

(Havre) – Recently United States Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins approved the State of Montana’s request for emergency assistance for drought-stricken counties, including some in the New Media Broadcasters listening area. Governor Greg Gianforte was in Havre recently and explained why this emergency funding is needed.

“Any farmer can tell you we need more rain. We are in a drought situation, many counties in the state are in a drought situation. Getting this designation means we are going to free up resources to help our farmers.”
