BUTTE, Mont. (NMB) – A 26-year-old Anaconda woman died of injuries suffered in a single vehicle crash near Butte on Thursday afternoon.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at around 3:26 PM on I-15 North at mile marker 123, when a 2004 Nissan Xterra left the median shoulder and rolled, coming to rest in the median. The passenger was ejected and both occupants were transported to the hospital.
The passenger, the woman from Anaconda, was pronounced dead while in transport. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Anaconda, was successfully transported to a hospital for treatment.
Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
Alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed are not suspected factors in the crash.
