Helena, September 24 – The Montana Community Foundation (MCF) is pleased to announce that Blaine County Community Foundation is currently accepting grant applications. The fund is designed to benefit the communities and residents of Blaine County. Grant applications will be accepted now through Thursday, October 15, 2026.
This opportunity is made possible through the vision of Warren Ross, who established the Blaine County Community Foundation Fund at MCF in 1997 to support the local community for generations to come. Total lifetime granting by this fund is $96,909, providing significant improvements ranging from new chairs for the Chinook Senior Center to grandstand repairs at the Blaine County Fairgrounds.
Applicants must be either a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or an exempt governmental unit. Grants will range in size from $500 to $2,000. While grants must be used for projects benefiting communities or residents in Blaine County, the grantee organization does not need to be based in Blaine County.
Eligible projects must provide a direct benefit to local residents, be sustainable, and address important, unmet needs. For example, past projects include repairs to the city pool, creation of a skate park, and courses for local EMTs. Ineligible projects include conferences, workshops, planning, research, untested projects, and partisan or sectarian activities.
Grant requests are reviewed by the Blaine County Community Grantmaking Committee. Only one application is allowed per organization. The grant process is competitive, and incomplete applications will not be considered.
