MISSOULA, Mont. (NMB) – A second Democrat has joined the 2022 race for Montana’s new seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Monica Tranel of Missoula announced her intention to enter the race this week. She unsuccessfully ran for Public Service Commissioner in 2020, and competed in the Olympics twice as a rower.
The other Democrat that has entered the race if State Representative Laurie Bishop of Livingston.
On the Republican side, former Congressman and Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and former State Senator Al Olszewski have entered the race for the new seat, which will be drawn by a Commission in Helena later this year.
