A Havre native is coming home. Kenzie Kallenberger grew up in Havre and attended Havre High before transferring to Big Sandy High School to compete for the Pioneers. It was recently announced that she will be choosing MSU-Northern in rodeo as her next stop in life.
She will look to compete in barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying with the Skylights, which were the same events she entered her senior year. When on the horse, she excelled in the Indian Nationals Final Rodeo (INFR), becoming a three-time junior barrel racer. In the Northern Rodeo Association, she qualified three times.
Many will remember Kenzie from her time on the hardwood, where she excelled for the Blue Ponies, winning back-to-back state championships her freshman and sophomore years. At Big Sandy, she started and led the Lady Pioneers basketball team back to the divisional tournament in Great Falls.
The daughter of coaches Doug and Emily Kallenberger, Kenzie said the reason why she wanted to go back home to Northern was because, “I wanted to stay close to home. I also really enjoy the rodeo program and thought that Northern would be the best fit for me.”
