(Kalispell)- Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is reminding hunters of new elk regulations taking effect in northwest Montana this season.Under changes approved by the Fish and Wildlife Commission, antlerless elk are no longer legal to harvest during archery season in Region 1.
Additionally, all Elk B Licenses for the region are now valid only on private property. State officials say the restrictions are designed to reduce the total harvest of antlerless elk and shift hunting pressure away from public lands.
