(Helena) – The Montana Department of Labor and Industry released unemployment numbers for the state on Friday. For the second consecutive month Montana’s Unemployment rate is at 2.3% and added 1,400 jobs and 1,200 jobs in the month of April.
The Department of Labor and Industry says that for the first time ever Montana has 560,000 employed workers. Payroll jobs in the sate grew by 1,100 jobs in April with the largest gains in manufacturing, transportation, and health care.
Here are the unemployment rates for counties in our area. Hill and Liberty county are at 2%, Valley County is at 2.1%, Chouteau (Show-Toe) County is at 2.3%, Fergus County is at 2.5%, Blaine County is at 3%, Phillips County is at 3.6% and Glacier county is at 5.1%.
