DENTON, Mont. (NMB) – An auction is scheduled to take place this weekend to raise funds for Denton Fire Relief.
The event is scheduled to take place on Friday from 4-10 PM and Saturday starting at 11 AM at the Fergus County Fairgrounds in Lewistown.
Beau Carter is a member of the Denton Town Council and a volunteer firefighter and says the event on Saturday will also feature live music, plenty of food, and a bar.
“It was people from every corner of the state that showed up to support Denton. I think that a fun evening is well deserved for all these volunteer firefighters and first responders and anyone who helped in any way for this thing.”
Carter says it would be financially irresponsible to rebuild everything that was lost in the fire, so the top priority is helping people that were displaced.
“There were so many people who were directly affected. Their rebuilding process is going to be a lot longer. They lost everything … There’s just so far to go. But we’ve got a great start with money coming in. People have been so incredibly generous.”
Packages up for bid at Saturday’s live auction include vacations, Coyote depravation hunts, and much more.
