Recently many rural Montana hospitals joined with Logan Health, however Big Sandy medical Center decided to stay independent.
Ron Weins the Big Sandy Medical Center CEO explains why they decided to remain independent.
“At this point we want to remain independent and financially sustainable, just like our small farmers. We’re kind of one in the same. The small family farms are going away they’re having to sell to the larger farmers and ranchers, and I think the farm bill is trying to save those family farmers and we’re trying to save the small rural hospitals. I think we can do a better job independently at this point.” -Ron Weins
