LAKE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – A 50-year-old Bigfork man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Lake County early Sunday morning.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 2 AM at mile marker 79 on Montana Highway 83, when a Jeep Wrangler being driven by the Bigfork man went off the roadway to the right. The driver overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to roll at least 3.5 times before coming to rest on the driver side.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt. He was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Excessive speed is a suspected factor in the crash, and the road was damp at the time.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
